Hi guys, this is another anime tourist spot. Today I will show you 6 Amazing Sailor Moon Real life Locations in Azabu-juban. You will have the chance to live in one of the popular old anime anime.
Today see these sailor moon real life locations:
- Rei’s Hikawa Shrine
- Sendaizakaue intersection
- Azabu-juban Station on the Metro and Toei subway lines
- Azabu-Juban Station street view
- The cobble-stoned commercial street at Azabu-Juban
- Akai kutsu no kanojo statue
Azabu-juban is usually known for its street shops. It’s a good place to hang out with your buddies(especially girls). Many background scenes from both the Sailor moon crystal and sailor moon series can be found in these districts. Well now let’s visit some real life sailor moon locations.
Sailor moon Mangaka Naoko Takeuchi used to live in this neighborhood when she was in University.
Sailor moon real life locations: Rei’s Hikawa Shrine
In the series, this is the shrine where Rei performs her duties. The background resemblance in real life is quite amazing. You can see for yourself.
Sendaizakaue intersection
Another one of Sailor Moon’s real life locations is the Sendaizakaue intersection. There is equally Sendaizakaue bus stop which is a 10 minutes walk from exit 1 of Azabu-juban station. In the Sailor moon series people who took the 6:00 pm bus here disappear without any trace.
Sailor moon real life locations: Azabu-juban Area
Azabu-Juban is one of Tokyo’s trendiest and most sought after residential neighborhoods. It’s close to Tokyo Tower and Roppongi Hills.
As you can see on the images, the stations in real life and in the anime almost look identical. If you are in Tokyo right now and like Sailor Moon, I guess you should take a look in the Azabu-juban Area. You may find other sailor moon real life locations there too as you spot along the area.
You can also visit the Olivier Atom town (Captain Tsubasa town). By the way, It’s also in Tokyo.

Besides the Azabu street view, cobble-stoned commercial street is another one of the real life background scenes that appears in Sailor moon.
Akai kutsu no kanojo statue
There is the statue of a little girl with red shoes that appears several times in some scenes of the anime and the crystal located in a cobble-stoned park.
Akai-kutsu-no-kanojo (The Girl with the Red Shoes) is inspired from a nursery rhyme “Akai Kutsu(Red shoes)” that was written in 1922 by Ujo Noguchi, a poet. This rhyme is based on the life of a young girl(Iwasaki Kimi) who died of Tuberculosis disease at the Toriikazu Church in Azabu.
For the little story about the Tuberculosis girl, her mother got married to a certain Shiro Suzuki and they moved to Hokkaido. Later on she gave her 3 years old girl child for adoption to American missionaries since her daughter could not handle farming life. Then Kimi contracted Tuberculosis while still in Japan. At that period Tuberculosis was incurable so the adoptive family decided to leave her in an orphanage church. Unfortunately Kimi died at the age of 9 and her mother never found out. Well that’s a portion of the sad story of the girl in red shoes.
