8 Popular themed cafes in Tokyo you absolutely need to visit.
Hi guys! Quite sorry for the long absence. I have been really busy with school and work so I couldn’t write for a while. Thank God I am back and ready to share my adventures with you. Well enough of chit chat let’s move on
If you remember, I shared a post about popular anime cafes in Tokyo. Well, I have discovered some other popular themed cafes in Tokyo during my journey and I’ve come to share them with you. Do you want to know more about them? Then I guess you should keep on reading.
1. Maid raid Cafés in Tokyo
One of the top themed cafes in Tokyo in our list is found in Akihabara, Shibuya, Shinjuku and Ikekuburo, and it’s actually one of the biggest franchised maid cafes in Japan. Waitresses here are dressed in maid anime costumes that will remind you of some fantastic anime characters. You even have the opportunity to enjoy your drink or food while chatting with the maids :).
2. Eorzea Cafe
A Final Fantasy XIV-themed café called Eorzea Cafe, located in Tokyo’s Akihabara district where you can enjoy some games and enjoy themed food and drinks.
Located on the 2nd floor, the café opened on the 31st of July 2014. The décor there include replicas of items from the game, such as weapons, armour, and moogles. You will equally find a giant map of the game world. And guess what! As I said you can play games and enjoy more than 20 food articles and more than 40 drinks there. But beware that only a certain number of customers can access the café per day. So you really need to rush quickly to reserve your tickets.

Kawaii Monster is a café designed by Sebastian Masuda located in Harajuku.
The Kawaii sensation will continue in 2021! Kawaii Monster Cafe is a colourful, trendy and totally Instagram-worthy cafe located in Harajuku, the centre of trends and fashion in Tokyo.
It’s a colourful monster concept cafe and you can see it just by looking at the decor and staff or food served there. You even have the opportunity to see a great performance show from some of these staff members. So make sure to grab some refreshing days there.
4. Sengoku Café
This is a themed café in Tokyo based on Japan’s Sengoku period also known as the warring states era. If you want to feel or be in the shoes of a Japanese warlord, then this is definitely the place to visit. The cafes offer private rooms to customers based on the different famous warlords like Oda Nobunaga and battles.
The food as well as its presentation is totally amazing. Just take a look below and this is just a little part. There are different set menus from which you can choose and almost affordable to all.
5. Vampire Cafe
I guess this is not for everyone. But I really like it. It’s one of the most unique themed cafes in Tokyo.
Located in Ginza, the vampire café is a themed restaurant inspired by the mansion of legendary Vampire Comte de Saint Germain. The decoration there from the interior to the food is totally vampire-oriented. So if you want to surprise someone who vampires terrorize then you should surely visit this café. Just kidding 🙂 You shouldn’t do stupid stuff because it can lead to a heart attack so make you go to someplace where you and your friend or relative feel at ease. This is an apercu of how some stuff looks there.
6. Hedgehogs Café
Nowadays, animal cafes have become one of the top tourist attractions in Tokyo. If you have never visited one, guess you should add it to your bucket list. You can even find rare animals in Tokyo.
7. Snake-themed cafes in Tokyo
Try the first snake café in Tokyo snake centre. If Hedgehogs are not your type, how about visiting a snake café? You can even put them around your neck and snap some pics. That’s really creepy, isn’t it? Well if you are the creepy type I guess you should experience the creepiness yourself. If you are not into snakes or Hedgehogs then you should opt for other themed cafes in Tokyo mentioned earlier.

8. Ninja Akasaka
Lastly, one of the top themed cafes you need to visit in Japan is the Ninja Akasaka. As the name implies it’s a ninja-themed café. It just looks how you will imagine a ninja hideout and food is served by ninja clad.
Even the food presentation features ninja objects like throwing stars(shuriken), knives, and a bonsai tree made entirely of Japanese sweets. When going there you should have at least 7000 yen. I hope you get the best experience there and have a lot of fun.
