Himeji is most recognized for its sumptuous castle. It is a city located in Hyōgo Prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan. In 2016, it’s population was estimated to be 500k. Today this city has become a great attractive sight for tourists.

Himeji Castle
Equally called the White Heron Castle because of it’s elegant white appearance. This castle is considered to be Japan’s most spectacular castle due to its imposing size and beauty. You may not believe but the Himeji castle was never destroyed by earthquake, war or fire unlike other castles.
Most visitors to Himeji Castle enter the castle via the Otemon Gate into the admission-free third bailey (Sannomaru). The Sannomaru contains a large, cherry tree and is a popular spot for taking photos of the castle and for viewing cherry blossoms. A ticket booth can be found at the far end of the bailey, where the Hishi Gate marks the entrance to the paid area.

Mount Shosha is located at the edge of Himeji city and you can reach the mount in only 30 minutes from the city center by bus. This Mount is the site of Engyoji which is an atmospheric temple complex.
