Fruits Basket Prelude Movie is Coming in Theaters this Summer

Crunchyroll announced yesterday that the Fruits Basket Prelude is coming to theaters this summer. It will mark the official ending of the beloved series. Crunchyroll will be distributing this special event in selected theaters in Canada, UK and US.  Fruits Basket movie will be airing both in dub and subtitle formats on June 25, 28 ad 29. In the The movie will be release with the dub version only on July 20.

The Fruits Basket: Prelude premiered in Japan this February and Crunchyroll equally release The Fruits Basket: Prelude trailer in subtitled and dubbed version.

Fruit Basket Prelude Staff Members

Yoshihide Ibata will direct the Fruits Basket -prelude, he was also response for the 2019 Fruit Basket series. Taku Kishimoto(2019 Fruits Basket series composition) will take care of the screenplay. Masaru Shindo will be the character designer. Masaru equally worked as the character designer for the series in 2019. Lastly, TMS Entertainment and 8PAN will be the animation studio of Fruit Basket Prelude. The title of the movie’s song is “Niji to Kite” meaning Rainbow and Kite will be performed by Ohashi Trio.

About Fruit Basket

Fruit Basket is a manga series by Natsuki Takaya. Hana to Yume magazine serialized the series from 1998 to 2006. The name of the series comes form a popular game played in Japanese elementary school. A sequel entitled “Fruits Basket Another” in September.

Fruits Basket revolve around Tohru Honda, an orphan girl who met Yuki Sohma along with his cousin Shigure Sohma, members of the Sohma family possessed by the animals of the Chinese zodiac. That is the have a curse that make them transform into their animal forms when they are hug by any normal human being of opposite sex or when they are weak, stressed. So Tohru learnt about the hardship each of the Sohma family have to face daily and decides to help them as much as possible. As the series goes on, Tohru equally learn more about herself and the mysteries around the Sohma family.
