In Dragon Ball Super Chapter 84 titled ‘A people’s pride’, Goku rediscovers his Saiyan pride in a flashback he has concerning the Bardock vs Gas fight several years ago. At the end of the flashback he admits that the Saiyan race isn’t all about sins but instead about pride. Monaito heals both Goku and Vegeta, cloth them with the classic saiyan outfit but they rejected it and preferred the normal outfit they both possess. They team up in order to defeat Gas, the most powerful warrior right now. Goku and Vegeta simultaneously dash into their Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego transformations respectively. The rematch can now begin.

Goku and Vegeta attack Gas simultaneously but he seems to avoid every single attack and he even seems to be annoyed by them cause despite their transformations, they look powerless for him. Vegeta looks confident because he claims that what will lead them to a win, is the Saiyan’s sheer desire to win. They continue to attack Gas and this time their attacks are more intensive pushing Gas to launch a massive Ki blast at them. They manage to jump ahead of it and launch Kamehameha and Galick Gun in return, but Gas dodges this attack once more. Gas appears behind Goku and Vegeta with a huge mace and severely knocks down Vegeta to the ground.

While Vegeta is on the ground, Gas rages at Goku with his mace’s attacks and manages to hit Goku down with a kick. Gas presses Goku’s chest on the ground with his foot. He mocks at him and tells both saiyans not to get cock treating them pathetic monkeys. Vegeta suddenly gets up and challenges Gas with what he called “ a god of destruction move, one capable of erasing mere mortals “ . He then launches it and contests Gas powers by asking Gas to withstand the move, if truly he is the universe’s strongest. Gas laughs at Vegeta’s attack and invites him to watch how he will deflect his sphere energy effortlessly. Goku joins Vegeta and adds more power to the attack causing Gas’s shield to start disintegrating slowly.

Thinking Gas is about to be defeated, he suddenly pushes back the attacks towards the saiyans. Feeling they are going to be erased by the “pushed-back” attack, Vegeta flies away and leaves Goku to collect the attack alone ! Vegeta flies and suddenly appears in front of Gas trying to knock him down but receives a huge kick on the stomach. He receives a second kick and a punch which projects him to the ground once more. Goku on the other side finally deflects the sphere energy towards the sky.

Gas is about to finish Vegeta, Goku uses instant transmission to rescue him but Vegeta suddenly gets up and gives a hard punch to Gas. This move leaves Gas stunned and wonders how Vegeta is still able to move after receiving such damages. Vegeta happily responds that damage is nothing but fuel to him claiming the more damage he receives, the stronger he becomes. This proud declaration marks the end of the chapter and lets us think that, with the Dragon Ball Super Chapter 85 release, we will have the continuation of an amazing combat.

Granolah defeats Goku, and Vegeta fights Granolah, gaining the upper hand with a new transformation, Ultra Ego. Granolah develops his own abilities through battle, overwhelming Vegeta.
