Real-life locations of Terror in Resonance (Zankyou no Terror)
Visiting real anime places that were featured in our favorite anime can be quite exciting and a great experience to live. For example, if you have already watched a great anime like Haikyuu!!, you will surely be interested in visiting its real-life spots. Many other anime tend to feature famous spots and this article takes a look at the real-life locations of Terror in Resonance, the great psychological thriller anime.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building
Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Destruction – Terror in Resonance
The first of the real-life locations of Terror in Resonance you could visit is the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, the seat of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, which governs the special wards, cities, towns, and villages that constitute the Tokyo Metropolis.
Located in Shinjuku ward, it consists of a complex of three structures, each taking up a city block.
The tallest of the three is the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No.1, a tower 48 stories tall that splits into two sections on the 33rd floor. The other two buildings in the complex are the eight-story Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly Building including one underground floor and Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 2, which has 37 stories including three below ground. The building appears in the first episode of Terror in Resonance with the building partially destroyed.

This street corner briefly appears in Terror in Resonance episode two. The shoe store known in real life as “The Force” is renamed “The Forge” in the anime series. The west exit of Shinjuku station is not far away. It is undoubtedly not the most beautiful of the Terror in Resonance locations in real life, but it appears in the program.

These kinds of video screens are common in Japan. You can find the Studio Alta AltaVision video screen, which is also present in Zankyou no Terror if you exit Shinjuku Station on the east side.
Moving south to Shibuya, an iconic landmark in Tokyo figures prominently in the street, known as the Shibuya scramble square; it embarks the famous Shibuya crossing present in many other anime like Death Note, Tokyo Ghoul or Weathering with You.
It is located in front of the Shibuya Station Hachikō exit and stops vehicles in all directions to allow pedestrians to pass easily. Of all the real-life locations of Terror in Resonance, the Shibuya scramble is obviously the most famous.

Maruhachi restaurant
Restaurant Maruhachi – Terror in Resonance
The next real-life location of Terror in Resonance is a restaurant selling good quality food, known as Maruhachi Donburi & Curry. It is an excellent spot to discover some Japanese specialities.
Roppongi police station
Azabu Police Station is a police station in Tokyo, situated near the art gallery AUREA CCXIII and the theatre Haiyuzagekijou. The name of this police station in the anime is the Roppongi police station.
Being the actual police station in Roppongi, the anime probably changed the name to avoid any potential problems with the police. Unfortunately, just like some of the other real-life locations of Terror in Resonance, you won’t be able to get into the building to visit the indoors.
Address: 4 Chome-7-1 Roppongi, Minato City, Tokyo 106-0032, Japan

Shirahige Shrine
Shirahige Shrine in Katsushika is the last destination and is located on the opposite side of Tokyo. Katsushika’s Shirahige Shrine is a satellite of the main Shirahige Shrine, which is situated on Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture (yeah, I actually viewed this one because it’s extremely far from my residence, okay?? ), as Shibazaki points out in the episode.
This list of real-world sites is by no means comprehensive, but it should offer some idea of the degree of accuracy that the show’s makers are aiming for. We’ll see what additional Tokyo locations surface in the final four episodes.
Shirahige Shrine Address: 215 Ukawa, Takashima, Shiga 520-1122, Japan
