3. Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale
The third of the first three best movies on Crunchyroll is Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale. It is the first feature film in the Sword Art Online franchise. The film’s story focuses primarily on the adventures of Kirito and his friends in a new online game called Ordinal Scale.
This game quickly becomes so popular that virtual reality, recently made possible thanks to Augma, is neglected.
Rather reluctant to get involved, Kirito will however have to follow Asuna and their friends in this game because the old bosses of Sword Art Online have appeared in special events and some players seem to have mysteriously disappeared.
Suffice it to say that if you have never heard of Sword Art Online, you are certainly likely to be dropped in front of this feature film because it indeed constantly refers to the events of the first season without wasting time summarizing them.
We, therefore, advise you to watch the series first, then watch Sword Art Online Movie Crunchyroll to understand what is going on.
